A weekly custom of “passing the coffee can for pocket change” at our Grayslake Business Breakfast Group network meetings (Tuesday mornings from 7:30 a.m.- 8:30 a.m.) becomes an annual tradition of donating this money to local charities. It is important for our group to not just support each other and other local businesses, but to remember those non for profit organizations that serve the citizens of our community. Our 2020 recipients include: The Wounded Warriors Project, Toys for Tots, and the Northern Illinois Food Bank. We also decided to contribute to Whitney Street Café in Grayslake which is the restaurant that has hosted our meetings for more than 10 years and was forced to shut down for a time. The “pocket change for charity” custom amounted to $1,500 in donations and support. If you own a local business in the Grayslake area, be our guest one Tuesday morning at Whitney Street Café in historic, downtown Grayslake. Meeting starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 8:30 a.m.
