Grayslake To Launch Bike Share Program This Spring

The pilot program will be the first-ever bike share offering in Lake County, officials said.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Starting this spring, Lake County's first-ever bike share program will be launched in Grayslake.

The two-year pilot program has been in the works since 2017. As part of the program, bike rentals will be available at various locations throughout Grayslake to rent for a cost of $3 for the first hour and $1 for each additional hour.

Grayslake Bike Share, a partnership between the Grayslake Area Public Library District, village of Grayslake, Grayslake Community Park District, College of Lake County, and Grayslake resident Mary Klees, is patterning with Koloni, Inc., to make the program a reality.

“As part of our strategic plan, we are pursuing partnership opportunities that underscore our mission, ‘Connecting community. Enriching lives. Inspiring ideas.’ Libraries have always striven to find innovative ways to provide access to resources and improve quality of life for our neighborhood and families,” said Sara Brown, director for the Grayslake Public Library. “Partnering with the Grayslake Park District for a shared community location seemed like a natural fit. We are also grateful to be partnering with the College of Lake County and the Village of Grayslake for the greatest good of our community as well.”
