Jose A. Torrez, 50, of the 33100 block of N Sears Blvd in unincorporated Grayslake, was arrested on Wednesday.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Lt. Christopher Covelli said the Lake County Sheriff Warrant’s Team arrested Torrez without incident.
The man had an active arrest warrant for three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony.

The warrant was approved on March 25 following an investigation by the Waukegan Police Department.
Torrez allegedly committed three acts of sexual assault on a girl under the age of 13, according to a criminal complaint filed in Lake County court.
The assaults occurred sometime between June 2019 and July 2020 in Waukegan, according to the complaint.
A Lake County judge ordered Torrez held in the Lake County Jail on a $5 million bond during a bond hearing Thursday. He must post $500,000 cash in order to be released on bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 22.
