Grayslake Mass Vaccination Site At Fairgrounds Closes

The Lake County Health Department will now shift its efforts to vaccinate people at the "hyper-local level."

GRAYSLAKE, IL — After more than 76,000 shots in arms, the mass vaccination site at the Lake County Fairgrounds officially closed Monday evening. The county will now shift its focus to vaccinating the public at the hyper-local level.

For people who still need a COVID-19 shot, they can find them at the Lake County Health Department Community Health Centers, doctor’s offices throughout the county as well as area pharmacy and retail locations.

“Every Lake County resident lives within three miles of a COVID-19 vaccination provider and the options are plentiful,” said Mark Pfister, Executive Director of the Lake County Health Department.

Pfister added that the county is looking into putting mobile units in neighborhoods, faith communities and even businesses to vaccinate people where it is most convenient for them.

Beginning Tuesday, June 15, the health department community center locations below will offer the following hours:

The Health Department continues to coordinate local vaccination events across the county based on community need. These events are posted on the Health Department’s website, social media, shared in the COVID-19 email newsletter, and promoted through local community outreach. Residents may also check with their healthcare provider for COVID-19 vaccine availability or to discuss any concerns about getting the vaccine.
