GURNEE, IL — The Great Wolf Lodge is among the Chicago-area businesses that has decided to temporarily close its doors to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. The Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, as well as Great Wolf Lodge resorts across the U.S., will close starting at 2 p.m. on March 15 with plans to re-open on April 2, according to a statement from the resort.

According to the statement, "the CDC states there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread through the use of pools or hot tubs." But resort officials decided after reviewing large gathering guidelines set by government and health officials to close.

A full refund will be given to all guests affected by the closure, according to the statement.
