Gurnee Woman Accused of Sex Acts With 15-Year-Old Boy

Lake County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 23-year-old Gurnee woman who they say was in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

Detectives launched a criminal investigation on Jan. 27 into the actions of Amanda L. Harris and found that she had engaged in sexual acts with the boy "on at least five occasions," according to a news alert issued on Wednesday.

"These incidents took place during the month of January, at the boy’s home, during times when the boy’s family was not home," the release said.

Harris was subsequently arrested and charged with five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, each a Class 2 felony. She was being held in the Lake County Jail on Wednesday on $30,000 bail. Harris is due back in court on Feb. 8.
