Lake County: Flood Warning, Hazardous Weather And Cancellations
A number of events scheduled this week by Lake County Forest Preserves have been cancelled.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A flood advisory continues as of Thursday afternoon for the Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire, and affects Lake County, or from Townline Road in Libertyville downstream to Palatine Road in Prospect Heights until Friday evening. According to the NWS, the river will remain at a level near 11.7 feet through Thursday.
The Restoration Workday scheduled by Lake County Forest Preserves for Friday, May 3 has been cancelled, in addition to several events scheduled for May 4. You can check the status of these events and more on the Lake County Forest Preserves site.

According to NWS, a hazardous weather outlook is also in effect for Lake County, as scattered showers will be seen through Thursday evening, and may cause spotty flooding. Many area rivers will continue to rise , with flooding likely along several, according to the NWS.

There are thunderstorm risks throughout Thursday and the weekend until Wednesday.
The NWS advises residents to turn around and find an alternate route if you encounter a flooded roadway.
