Local Goddard School Owners Supports Special Needs Children
Virtual Event Raises Funds To Send Special Needs Children to Summer Camp
David and Donna Raye, Owners of The Goddard School in Third Lake/Grayslake/Gurnee, were Co-Chairs for One Special Night for Very Special Kids. The virtual charity event had a Summer of Love 1967 theme featuring the music of Soundtracks of a Generation.
It was a virtual event that was broadcast live from The Viper Alley in Lincolnshire, IL on November 7, 2020. Our Special guest Emcee was Anthony “Spice” Adams, Retired Chicago Bear, TV Personally and Social Media Mogul.
All proceeds benefit students with multiple disabilities and complex medical needs from 3 years to 22 years of age within The Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL).

“This year was a significant challenge, as we had to reimagine the event as a live broadcast due to the global pandemic,” reflected David Raye, “and we are thrilled that we hit our fundraising goal while moving everything on-line.”
The Raye's helped The SEDOL Foundation raise over $50,000 this year. This was Donna and David's 8th year of hosting this annual event, accumulating donations close to $500,000 for various impactful programs such as music, deaf & hard of hearing, and much more for At-Risk children and their families.
