Police Find Missing Lake County Suicidal By Searching From the Air

Jason R. Christensen, 32, of McHenry was visiting a friend on March 27 when he left on foot. Information provided to police by friends indicated that Christensen had made suicidal statements prior to leaving.

“A ground search was conducted with the assistance of the AIR-ONE Emergency Response Coalition helicopter,” Lake County Sheriff’s Police said in a written release. “The aircrew, using FLIR (Forward Looking Infra-red), located a small fire near the residence and directed ground units to that area.”

Christensen was located in that area and taken to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center (NIMC) for evaluation.
