These cats and dogs are missing from their homes in or near Lake County.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — These furry friends have gone missing from their Lake County owners in recent days. If you've seen one of these lost pets, or if you own one of the found pets, click on the town name above the photo to go to the original Facebook post. A small puppy/dog was found Thursday, Sept. 12 running around 28th and Elizabeth. He was on the front porch of Kristina Foster‎ and seemed startled, and wouldn't let her near him. Contact Foster if this is your pet.


Buffalo Grove: "Einstein"

Einstein, a 1.5-year-old male cat with white paws, white fur on the front of his neck and month, has been missing from his Buffalo Grove home near the Willow Stream park golf course area since Sept. 4. Einstein is neutered and chipped, has a reddish-brown nose, with beautiful and unique marks around his eyes and on his forehead. Please contact ‎Victoria Chepelyuk‎ or call her at 224-433-1178 if you see or find Einstein. Chepelyuk said her cat is an "inside" cat, but would "use any tiny chance to sneak out, usually returning within several hours, but not this time.


Gurnee: Two Chihuahuas

These two Chihuahuas we found out in the rain Thursday night, Sept. 12 on Glendale Avenue, and as of Friday afternoon were at the Gurnee Police Department, before being transferred to Lake County Animal Control later Friday. If you are their owner, call Tricia Hale-Fallos at 847-377-4700. She said the pup pair are inseparable and need to stay together.


Whispering Oaks neighborhood, Lake Forest: Cat

A neutered male cat, at least 10 years old, was found Monday, Sept. 9 in the Whispering Oaks neighborhood in Lake Forest. He doesn't have a microchip, but is currently residing with a family and was seen by a vet. Though skinny, he has a big body, and is very sweet and mellow. Island Lake: Male cat

A male gray cat was found early Friday morning, Sept. 13 in Island Lake. He has no collar or chip. Contact Jay Michael‎ if this is your cat.


Park City/Waukegan area:

A rescue dog whose owner lives in Wisconsin jumped out of a car window on 41 and 120, by Park City and Waukegan, according to Waukegan Police Animal Control. Please call 920-530-6629 if you are the owner.

Grayslake, in Quail Creek:

Two dogs seen Friday, Sept. 13 in Quail Creek described in photo above.


Mundelein: "Sophie"

Sophie has been missing since June 3 — South Lake Street and Hickory — near route 45. Contact information is listed in the photo above.
