Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Weekend Crash

The crash happened Saturday afternoon at Rollins and Wilson roads in Ingleside.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a weekend crash in Ingleside. The 48-year-old man from unincorporated Lake Villa sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in critical condition following the crash Saturday afternoon at Rollins and Wilson roads, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation shows the man’s 2011 Harley-Davidson Street Glide was heading south on Wilson Road when it drove through a red light, authorities said.

The motorcycle ran into the passenger side of a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox traveling west on Rollins Road, police said. Deputies first at the scene found the motorcyclist lying in the roadway in critical condition.

The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he remained in critical condition, authorities said Sunday.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 67-year-old Ingleside man, was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, according to a new release.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
