Reward Offered In Fatal Shooting Of Sandhill Crane
Officials believe the sandhill crane was shot near Sun Lake Forest Preserve in Lake Villa.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A $2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a person accused of fatally shooting a sandhill crane earlier this month.
It's believed the crane was shot in Lake Villa in the area of the Sun Lake Forest Preserve on May 15, according to officials with Flint Creek Wildlife and Rehabilitation. The crane later died due to injuries sustained in the shooting.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Illinois Department of Natural Resources tip line at 1-877-2DNRLAW or send a private message to the Flint Creek Rehabilitation Facebook page.
The $2,500 reward will be offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person involved with the shooting.
