Route 176 Bridge Project Over Des Plaines River Begins April 19
The project will close IL Route 176 down to one lane and require the installation of a temporary traffic signal.
The Village of Libertyville received notification that IDOT has installed advance notification boards on IL Route 176 on each side of bridge running over the Des Plaines River.

According IDOT, Phase I of the project will start April 19, 2021 and be complete May 28, 2021, weather permitting. The work will be the rehabilitation of the bridge deck and concrete repairs of the closed lane.
During Phase I, the bike lane across the bridge will be closed and a detour will be posted. Phase II of the project will begin May 29, 2021 and be complete July 15, 2021, weather permitting.

During Phase II, the closure down to one lane will switch sides on the bridge. The work during Phase II will be the rehabilitation bridge deck and concrete repairs of the closed lane. The bike lane will be open during Phase II.
