Six Flags Great America Will Reopen Next Month
The amusement park plans to reopen on April 24. Park officials will open Hurricane Harbor in late May.

GURNEE, IL — Six Flags Great America will reopen for the summer in late April.
Last week, park officials announced the popular amusement park at 1 Great America Parkway will reopen on April 24. Hurricane Harbor, the accompanying water park, is set to open on May 29.
Six Flags' comprehensive reopening plan was developed "in consultation with epidemiologists, meets or exceeds federal, state, and local guidelines for sanitization, hygiene, and social distancing protocols," according to the park's website. Park reopening dates could change in order to keep in line with local, state and federal guidelines related to COVID-19.

Season passes are available to buy and start at $59.99, and memberships start at $5.99 per month. More information is available on the Six Flags' website.
Those wishing to stop out to the park must make a reservation. The amusement park joins other Chicago-area draws to announce reopening in recent weeks. The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Brookfield Zoo have also reopened or announced plans to do so soon.
