Skyway Championship Is 4-Peat For Men's Golf

The College of Lake County Men's Golf program has had their share of success on the course over the past several seasons. Coming into the final conference event on their home course; Pine Meadows Golf Club, CLC needed to place just 4th or better, to earn the back-to-back-to-back-to-back accomplishment. On a day where conditions were extremely difficult, the Lancers left no doubt about who controlled conference winning the tournmanet outright. They were led by Sophomore Trevor Brandon who shot a meet-best 81 and finished 3rd overall in the conference averaging a 77.4 on the season.
The win on Wednesday evening, gave the Lancers their 4th consecutive Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Championship. This was their 26th overall conference championship, and further cemented their programs' dynasty. In addition to the ISCC Championship, for the fourth consecutive year, Chris Wyniawskyj was named Conference Coach of The Year, while Sophomore, Konnor Kininmonth was named Conference Player of The Year.Konnor led the Lancers this season averaging 75.4 over the course of the Skyway six-meet schedule. Kininmonth placed in the top 3 in five of the six meets, while winning two tournaments outright. Trevor Brandon and Trevor Gregory also were named to ISCC All-Conference Team. Brandon who qualified for NJCAA Nationals last year, before COVID-19 canceled the tournament, finished 3rd overall in the conference averaging a 77.4. Trevor Gregory finished 9th in the conference averaging 86.2 over the season.

The team will tune up one more time on Friday (10/2/20) at Prairie View Golf Club in the Region IV Preview Classic before the Region IV Championships scheduled October 8-10.
