Summer Concert Series: Blues, Rock, Folk, More

The Grayslake 2018 Friends of the Library concert lineup is out, and it's looking pretty good.

From The Grayslake Library: The Grayslake Area Public Library is pleased to announce the 2018 Friends of the Library Outdoor Summer Concert Series lineup. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, all concerts are free and no registration is required. Grab a blanket, pack a picnic basket or buy tasty treats from food vendors and dine alfresco while enjoying summer worthy music.

Kraig Kenning
Monday, June 4 at 7:00 – 8:00 pm
Contemporary folk, blues, roots rock, or American fingerstyle– National Slide Guitar Champion Kraig Kenning plays it all! Singer songwriter Kenning always delivers a great concert.

John Primer & The Real Deal Band
Monday, June 25 from 7 – 8:00 pm
Two-time Grammy Award nominee John Primer learned to play the blues from the best of the best,
including Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor and many more. Join
Primer and his band for a night of great stories and rich music.

Chris Calhoun
Monday, July 9 from 7 – 8:30 pm
Playing guitar for over 30 years, Chris Calhoun’s influences include everything from Zeppelin to
Radiohead to Neil Young to Zac Brown. Everyone will enjoy the wide range of music diversity and
talent Calhoun brings to each show.

Small Potatoes
Monday, July 23 from 7 – 8:30 pm
After 25 years, a million miles and 3,500 shows, Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso of Small
Potatoes have developed a repertoire they describe as “Celtic to Cowboy.” Joining them for this show
will be Brian Murphy on bass and vocals, and Joe Pesz on percussion.

Makani and Friends
Monday, August 14, from 7 – 8:00 pm
Angelic voices along with strumming ukuleles, rhythmic beating of Tahitian Drums, and traditional
dances of Hokule’a. Makani will take you on a musical journey of the Polynesian Islands.

Concerts take place rain or shine. If inclement weather arises concerts are held inside with limited,
