Taste Of Grayslake Family Picnic, Fireworks Cancelled
The event, which had been scheduled for June 26, has been called off.
GRAYSLAKE, IL — This year's Taste of Grayslake Family Picnic and Fireworks has been cancelled. As has been the case with community events throughout the Chicago, organizers in Grayslake decided to call of the fest for 2020 due to continued concerns over the new coronavirus and continued state-mandated requirements regarding social distancing.
"While we’re disappointed about cancelling one of our favorite annual events, we need to do our part to keep the community safe," according to a statement posted on the Grayslake Park District website.
Park district officials say they plan to hold the festival in 2021 where there will be live music, local food vendors, carnival rides and games, beer and wine and fireworks at dusk.
