Coroner IDs Motorcyclist, 30, Killed In Crash
The collision happened early Sunday on Route 176 in Fremont Township.
FREMONT TOWNSHIP, IL — A 30-year-old Wauconda man killed in a motorcycle crash early Sunday has been identified as Jeffrey Thompson, authorities said.
The collision occurred at Route 176 and Fairfield Road in Fremont Township when a motorcycle headed west on Route 176 went off the road and hit a traffic light pole. Authorities were called to the scene at about 3:10 a.m. and found the Thompson, who had been thrown from the motorcycle, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Preliminary autopsy results show he died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Route 176 was closed for about three hours following the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
