2 Hinsdale Domestic Violence Arrests: Cops

Men arrested in separate domestic incidents, police say.

HINSDALE, IL — In the last few days, Hinsdale police have handled cases involving domestic violence, hit-and-run damage, identity theft and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

  • Yanjie Zhu, 40, of Hinsdale, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. April 6 in the 400 block of West 58th Place on two misdemeanor charges of domestic violence. According to a police report, Yanjie made contact of an "insulting or provoking nature" with a family member. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • James S. Mayes, 36, of Chicago, was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of South Madison Street on two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery. According to a police report, Mayes made contact of an "insulting or provoking nature" with a victim. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Joel M. Alvarado, 20, of Cicero, was arrested about 1 a.m. April 6 on Cicero and DuPage County warrants. Alvarado was a passenger in a car that was stopped for an equipment violation. He was released on bond and given a date to appear in court.
  • A resident in the 800 block of West Fourth Street told police April 6 that someone opened five bank accounts using his identity between March 15 and March 23.
  • A driver's side rear bumper was damaged in a hit-and-run accident between 11 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. Wednesday in the Hinsdale hospital's parking garage, 135 N. Oak St.
  • Julian M. Gonzalez, 20, of Brookfield, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North County Line Road on charges of transportation of open alcohol and speeding. An open bottle of tequila was found in the car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Allen G. Clark, 34, of Maywood, was cited about 8 p.m. Sunday at County Line Road and 55th Street on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Terrence L. Leonard, 49, of Chicago, was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Monday at 55th Street and County Line Road on a Chicago warrant. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
