3rd Person Accused In Hinsdale Burglary Involving Ferrari

Police found a pistol after they responded to a dealership break-in, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — A 15-year-old juvenile has been charged in a burglary involving a high-end car at a Hinsdale dealership in May, prosecutors said Thursday.

The incident took place about 2:30 a.m. May 17 at Land Rover Hinsdale, 336 E. Ogden Ave. The attempted theft was of a 2018 red Ferrari.

"At the young age of 15, the juvenile charged in this case is now facing multiple serious felony offenses,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement. “The identification and apprehension of this juvenile demonstrates the Hinsdale Police Department’s commitment to seeing a case through from beginning to end. I have no doubt that thanks to their efforts, anyone allegedly involved in this crime will be held accountable."

The juvenile was charged with six counts of armed violence, three counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of burglary and two counts of criminal damage to property.

When police arrived at the dealership, they found a 9mm pistol and a 30-round extended 9mm magazine, according to a news release. After a brief chase, a juvenile and RaJohn Stewart, 24, of Country Club Hills, were taken into custody, police said.
