8-Hour Standoff Near Hinsdale Results In Charges: Cops

Two men fired a handgun into woods behind a house, authorities say.

HINSDALE, IL — Two men are facing charges after an eight-hour standoff near Hinsdale early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Channty Keo, 44, of Chicago, and Jonathan Boyce, 36, of Yorkville, are charged with one count of felony possession of a defaced firearm, according to a news release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Both have already posted 10 percent of their $5,000 bonds and have been released.

Shortly after 1 a.m., sheriff's deputies and Metro SWAT responded to shots fired on Vine Street, between 71st and 72nd streets. Keo and Boyce refused to come out of a house until 9:30 a.m., authorities said.

Investigators determined the men each fired a 9mm Springfield Armory handgun with a defaced serial number into a wooded area behind Vine Street, the release said.
