Arrest Made In Hinsdale Identity Theft Case: Cops
Woman opened a line of credit using another person's identity, then bought a car, police said.
HINSDALE, IL — A woman who stole the identity of a Hinsdale resident and used that identity to buy a car has been charged, police said.
Carrie Lynn Srivongxay Carmichael, 29, of Norridge, was arrested on felony charges of attempted identity theft and attempted theft. She was found with the victim's identification while in the custody of the Glencoe Police Department, police said.
In early February, Carmichael opened a line of credit using the Hinsdale resident's identity and then bought a $23,318 Honda CR-V using that identity, according to police.

Carmichael was arrested March 3 and taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Hinsdale and Glencoe, where Carmichael was taken into custody, have among the highest median household incomes in Illinois — both more than $200,000.
