A Car Thief, Fence-Wrecker and $11K Worth of Missing Jewelry: Hinsdale Police Blotter

The following crimes were taken from the Hinsdale police blotter throughout the past week. As a reminder, an arrest doesn't constitute a finding of guilt.

Drugs

  • Heather Kudsi, 21, was stopped for speeding Nov. 26 and arrested for having marijuana with her. She was charged and released with a court date.

Burglary

  • A woman who lives on the 400 block of S. Lincoln Street reported that between Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. and Nov. 20 at 1 p.m., $11,100 worth of jewelry went missing from her home. She said she’d hired workers during the time frame her jewelry was stolen. The case isn’t closed.
  • A resident living on the 100 block of E. Hickory Street said a bicycle went missing from his garage between Nov. 26 and Nov. 17. He said the garage had been closed, but that a side door may have been open at the time of the burglary.

Car theft

  • Constance Alex, 60, of Wheaton was slowed by police for a traffic stop Nov. 24 in the area of Route 83 and 63rd Street. After suspecting that her car wasn’t her own, police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle and found that it had been stolen. When the cops told Constance the car was stolen, she fled the scene. Police stopped her later and she was taken into custody by Hinsdale police before being sent to DuPage County Jail. The car was returned to its owner.

  • On Nov. 21, a Hinsdale resident reported that someone had used her credit card information to buy things at Nordstrom’s. The amount of money stolen and number of purchases was unavailable at the time of the report, and police are still looking into the case.

Property damage

  • Charles Schultz, 31, of Hinsdale was arrested Nov. 22 for damaging someone’s fence the day before. He had been caught on a surveillance video and was arrested when police recognized him from the footage.
