Caregiver Steals Ring From Older Hinsdale Woman: Cops

HINSDALE, IL — A caregiver has been arrested in connection with the theft of a ring from an elderly Hinsdale resident, police said.

Rose L. Davenport, 58, of Chicago, was charged last week with the felonies of financial exploitation of an elderly person and theft.

Last year, the victim told police that a diamond ring valued at $1,600 was stolen from a jewelry box, according to a police report. The theft occurred in June in an apartment in the 18-story high-rise at 21 Spinning Wheel Road, police said.

An arrest warrant for Davenport was issued Jan. 21. After she was arrested Friday, she was released and given a date to appear in court.
