The Art Institute of Chicago, the Field Museum, Chicago Children’s Museum, Illinois Holocaust Museum—these are just a few of the Chicago area treasures that you can visit virtually through “Your City @ Home,” a series of online tours offered this spring by the Clarendon Hills Library.

Through a unique partnership with 40 other libraries in the Chicago area, CHPL is able to offer virtual field trips to nine different Chicago cultural and historic destinations. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the propagation greenhouse at the Garfield Park Conservatory, meet the penguins at the Shedd Aquarium, enjoy “The People Could Fly” exhibit at the DuSable Museum of African American History, and much more.

“The COVID pandemic has definitely changed the services that museums and libraries can provide to the public. I am thrilled that we and our area libraries are able to partner with these nine museums to offer our communities virtual access to some of the amazing historical, cultural, and educational content and exhibits at these museums,” said, Lori Craft, Clarendon Hills Library Director.
