D86 Launches Interactive Attendance and Boundary Map

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale Township High School District 86 announced that it has launched an interactive attendance and boundary map accessible through the district app, website and school websites.

The map displays attendance boundaries for the entire district, its schools, Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South, as well as sender elementary districts and their district offices.

Users can select different views by choosing the “overlay” that best describes what they want to see, for example, users can search by school, by a specific address or by area.

“This new interactive tool will give community members an easy, visual way to look at attendance boundaries,” said Karen Warner, District 86 Director of Communications. “It also helps families in our sender elementary districts as well as people who may be looking to move in to District 86. Now that we have this information in a digital format, any updates can be made much more quickly and inexpensively than with a paper map.”

“We continue to add functionality to our communications tool kit and by doing so we keep improving the ways in which our families and our community can find the information they seek,” said Superintendent Dr. Bruce Law. “It also gives staff a quick reference tool to use in the registration process and helps our staff better answer attendance zone questions. Of course, Board policy will always be the last word on attendance zones but by offering a map that pulls data supplied directly from DuPage and Cook Counties, we can provide a useful information in a quick and timely manner.”
