Fifty Hinsdale Residents Run in Sunday's Chicago Marathon

The event drew thousands.

CHICAGO, IL — Nearly 50 Hinsdale residents tied their laces and ran in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday. The 26.2-mile course took runners through 29 Chicago neighborhoods that went all the way north to Wrigley Field and south to US Cellular Field.

Robert Hart, 42, was the first Elmhurst resident to finish the race at a time of 3:08:58, according to unofficial Chicago Marathon results. He finished 1659th overall, 1483rd in his gender and 233rd in his 40-44 age division.

Close behind Hart was Alexander Lambert, who finished in 3:19:28 and placed 10th in his 16-19 age group.

Here are some of Hinsdale's other fastest finishers:

  • Maggie Glavin, 23 (20-24 age division), 3:30:05
  • Wayne Bush, 53 (50-54 age division), 3:34:49
  • Laila Drury, 19 (16-19 age division), 3:36:06
  • David Grabill, 54 (50-54 age division), 3:43:07
  • Xiaodong Han, 49 (45-49 age division), 3:46:27

Elite runners from Kenya dominated the race. Kenyan Abel Kirui finished first with a time of 2:11:22, beating out last year’s champion and fellow Kenyan Dickson Chum in the final mile. Florence Kiplagat, 29, was the top female finisher clocking in at 2:22:31. Results are still unofficial.
