Find a Hinsdale Cooling Center to Escape Excessive Heat
Residents are urged to check on their relatives, friends and neighbors as the week heats up.

HINSDALE, IL — Temperatures are on the rise this week in the Chicago area, and the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Thursday afternoon through Friday evening.
This level of heat can pose health risks, especially to elderly adults, young children and pets.
The Village of Hinsdale has designated the Hinsdale Police & Fire Department as temporary cooling centers for residents who may need emergency cooling. The police non-emergency phone number is (630) 789-7070, and the fire non-emergency phone number is (630) 789-7060.

The temporary cooling centers have restroom facilities and telephone service, but there are no sleeping accommodations.
Public health officials recommend avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the heat of the day, wearing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and drinking plenty of water.
