Hinsdale And Clarendon Hills See Hikes In Virus Rates
No new coronavirus deaths are reported in either town.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills saw similar hikes in their percentage rates of increase in coronavirus cases last week, according to county agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,400 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 32 from a week before, or a 2.3 percent hike. The previous week's increase was 1.1 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 762 as of Sunday, up 17 from a week before, or a 2.3 percent increase. The village saw a 1.6 percent hike the week before.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.
Hinsdale saw no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total still at 60 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths also stayed the same, at 12. Hinsdale's number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 79.4 coronavirus cases per thousand people since the pandemic's beginning. The figure compares to 71 in Darien, 72.5 in La Grange Park, 76.2 in Western Springs, 80.5 in DuPage County, 82.7 in Elmhurst, 87.1 in Clarendon Hills, 88.9 in suburban Cook County, 93.4 in Burr Ridge and 100 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,220,432, up 1.1 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 21,059 state residents.
Nationally, 29.5 million people have caught the virus, up 1.3 percent from the week before. A total of 538,261 people have died from the virus in the United States.
