DUI Suspect In Hinsdale Coming From Country Club: Cops
Driver told officers he was unsure how he hit a car in village, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — A Burr Ridge man arrested on a DUI charge earlier this month was driving from Hinsdale Golf Club, where he said he drank a bottle of wine, police said.
Zaki Anwar, 56, was arrested on a charge of DUI and cited on charges of failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle, failure to report an accident to police and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, police said.
About 11 p.m. April 14, police were called after a car had apparently hit a parked black Chevrolet Tahoe in the 10 block of South Thurlow Street, causing heavy damage, according to a police report obtained through a public records request.

Around the same time, an officer stopped Anwar, who was driving a black Porsche 911 Turbo, police said. Anwar, who was wearing golf shoes, told officers he had come from the Hinsdale Golf Club in Clarendon Hills and that he was unsure how he hit the car, police said.
Anwar failed a number of roadside sobriety tests, police said. In one test, he was stumbling so much that an officer terminated the exam for the driver's safety, according to the report.

Anwar told officers he had consumed a bottle of wine about four hours earlier, police said.
Anwar was released on bond. Police had his car towed.
