Hinsdale Little League Falls Short In World Series Regional Championship

Hinsdale Little League lost 3-6 against Michigan in the Regional Championship game.

HINSDALE, IL —The Hinsdale Little League team fell short in the Championship game against Michigan in the Little League World Series Great Lakes Tournament. The Michigan team scored five runs in the fifth inning, and the Hinsdale team was unable to close the gap, according to the Little League website. The final score of the championship game was 6-3, in favor of Michigan.

The Hinsdale team faced off against teams from both Kentucky and Ohio to make it to the championship round of the tournament. According to the Little League website, the Michigan team made it to the championship by defeating Ohio 11-3 in the losers bracket. Michigan finished the tournament with a 4-1 record, while Hinsdale was 2-1.

After their return to Illinois, the Hinsdale team spoke to ABC7 Chicago in a Facebook Live video.

The Hinsdale team roster includes Evan Phillips, Andres Waelter, Emerson Eck, Reece Kolke, Jakobi Lange, Ben Oosterbaan, Max Williams, Grant Davis, Joe Boggs, Max Merlo, Charlie Bergin and Lucas Smith.

The Great Lakes Regional Tournament took place in Westfield, Indiana.
