Hinsdale Man Fights Off Local Cops: Police
Man is charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, report says.
HINSDALE, IL — A Hinsdale man drove away after getting into a traffic accident Sunday, then tried to fight off officers pursuing him, Hinsdale police said.
Charles C. Heimke, 24, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting an officer, DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. The crash was about 2:30 a.m. at County Line Road and 57th Street.
According to a police report, officers found Heimke's car at his house on County Line Road. Described as uncooperative, Heimke became physical with officers and resisted arrest, police said.

Police said they detected a strong odor of alcohol on Heimke's breath.
