Hinsdale Obituaries: Dr. Andrew A Perez, 59

Dr. Andrew A. Perez, 59, of Hinsdale, died on Dec. 31 after a cardiac event. Preceded in death by his father, Ramon, Dr. Perez is survived by his wife, Patrice Perez, his children, Alex and Stephanie Perez, and his mother, Victoria Perez. Dr. Perez is a New Jersey native who moved to Chicago in grade school. He graduated from Lane Tech and University of Illinois-Champaign. He worked for Little Company of Mary Hospital and, for the last 15 years, operated a private practice at Midwest Primary Care. A visitation was held Monday at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Downers Grove. A funeral service was held there Tuesday. Donations to Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church or Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation are encouraged. An obituary for Dr. Perez was posted on the Hultgren Funeral Home website.

Lawrence Philip Hartlaub, 100, of La Grange Park, formerly of
Scottsdale, AZ and Barrington, IL, passed away into the loving arms ofÂ
our Lord on December 29, 2013. Cherished son of the late Loretta andÂ
the late Sylvester Hartlaub. Beloved husband of the late Helen; lovingÂ
father of Larry Jr. (Linda)of Denver, Mary Monzures (Don) KoeppenÂ
of Scottsdale, and Anne (Greg) Smith of Western Springs. CherishedÂ
grandfather of Megan and Christine Hartlaub, Tim Monzures, and GregÂ
(Alia), Lauren and Carrie Smith. Great-grandfather to Gwen Smith. DearÂ
older brother to the late Agnes (late Ted) Swaback, the late Ruth (lateÂ
Charles) Hall, Norma Louise (late Erwin) Prasse, the late Donald (lateÂ
Shirley), the late Eugene (Ann), the late Anne (late Richard) Ceranek,Â
George (Joan), Jacqueline (Donald) Carducci, and Philip (Jeanne).Â
Brother-in-law to Rosemary Hartlaub and the late Joel Hartlaub. FondÂ
uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a friend andÂ
an inspiration to all who met him.
He was an active Boy Scout for over 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy WorldÂ
War II veteran and he received a law degree from John Marshall LawÂ
School. He was a fourth-degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was aÂ
founding member of the Barrington Knights of Columbus and a foundingÂ
member of the St. Maria Goretti Knights of Columbus in Scottsdale. HeÂ
worked at Jewel Tea Company from 1942 – 1961. He worked at Salerno-Megowen Biscuit Company from 1961 until he retired in 1980 where heÂ
was the Administrative Vice-President and Treasurer.
Services will be held Saturday, January 4 in the chapel at theÂ
Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 1515 W Ogden Ave, La GrangeÂ
Park, IL 60526. This chapel is attached to Bethlehem Woods, whereÂ
Lawrence was living for the last few years.
Visitation will be held in the chapel prior to the noon funeral mass fromÂ
10:15 – 12:00 noon.
Lawrence asked that any donations be made to the Bellarmine JesuitÂ
Retreat House, 420 West County Line Road, Barrington, IL 60010, to St.Â
Thomas Hospice, 119 E Ogden Ave., Hinsdale, IL 60521 or to a charity ofÂ
your choice.
