Hinsdale Residents May Wait Days For Power
Utility releases times for when it aims to restore electricity for residents.
HINSDALE, IL — As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, about 650 ComEd customers in Hinsdale were without power as a result of storms late Monday afternoon, according to the utility's online map. ComEd said it is aiming to restore power within four days.
"We expect the vast majority of customers to be restored by Friday and the rest by 3 p.m. Saturday," ComEd spokeswoman Cristina Meesenburg told Patch.
In Hinsdale, the outages were given a restoration time of 3 p.m. Saturday.

Hinsdale is not as hard hit as some towns in the area. For instance, more than 6,400 ComEd customers in Elmhurst were still affected by power outages early Tuesday afternoon.
In the utility's service area, 331,026 customers were affected by outages as of 1 p.m. Tuesday, down from 380,412 this morning. That's a 13 percent reduction. The total number of ComEd customers is a little more than 4 million.

On its website, ComEd indicates that it updates its online outage map about every 15 minutes.
