Hinsdale Sees Another Low In Virus Cases
Clarendon Hills sees two more coronavirus deaths in the last week.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale last week saw another low in new coronavirus cases, while Clarendon Hills maintained its low rates of increase, according to county agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,336 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 13 from a week earlier, or a 1 percent hike. The previous week's increase was 1.1 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 721 as of Sunday, up a dozen from a week before, or a 1.7 percent hike.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.
Hinsdale saw no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total still at 60 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths increased by two, to 12. Hinsdale's number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 75.7 coronavirus cases per thousand people. The figure compares to 68.4 in La Grange Park, 69.5 in Darien, 72.6 in Western Springs, 77.9 in DuPage County, 79 in Elmhurst, 82.4 in Clarendon Hills, 86.5 in suburban Cook County, 91 in Burr Ridge and 96.5 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,186,696, up 1.2 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 20,516 state residents.
Nationally, 28.3 million people have caught the virus, up 1.7 percent from the week before. A total of 508,949 people have died from the virus in the United States.
