Elmhurst, Hinsdale to Welcome Two New Medical Facilities in 2016

AMITA Health Cancer Institute and Outpatient Center and Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare Hospital Health Center to open in 2016,

Two new medical centers are expected to finish construction and open doors in Hinsdale this year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The AMITA Health Cancer Institute and Outpatient Center will open in early February and Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare Hospital Health center will open later this year.

Technology and imaging services from Hinsdale and La Grange Memorial hospitals will move the first week of January to the new AMITA facility.

The new building will help patients see oncologists, receive chemotherapy and radiation and have diagnostic tests and lab work under one roof, a hospital spokeswoman told the Chicago Tribune.

The building does not just serve cancer patients. It will also provide imaging for mammograms, X-rays, ultrasounds and other tests.

The Salt Creek medical campus will expand later this year by adding a three-story Elmhurst Hospital Health Center on the corner of Salt Creek and Tower lane.

The new building will house the Linden Oaks Behavioral Health center, Elmhurst Hospital primary care physicians on the third floor and an immediate care center on the first floor.

The immediate care center will be open seven days a week and equipped with imaging services, physical therapy rooms and a lab.
