Hinsdale's Virus Rate Hike About Same: Agencies
No new coronavirus deaths are reported in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills saw about the same percentage rates of increase in coronavirus cases last week as they have in recent weeks, according to county agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,368 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 15 from a week before, or a 1.1 percent hike. The previous week's increase was 1.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 745 as of Sunday, up a dozen from a week before, or a 1.6 percent increase. The village saw a 1.7 percent hike the week before.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.
Hinsdale saw no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total still at 60 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths also stayed the same, at 12. Hinsdale's number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 77.6 coronavirus cases per thousand people. The figure compares to 70.3 in Darien, 70.8 in La Grange Park, 74.3 in Western Springs, 79.5 in DuPage County, 80.7 in Elmhurst, 85.1 in Clarendon Hills, 88 in suburban Cook County, 92.3 in Burr Ridge and 98.5 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,207,847, up seven-tenths of 1 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 20,924 state residents.
Nationally, 29.2 million people have caught the virus, up 1.6 percent from the week before. A total of 530,693 people have died from the virus in the United States.
