The Burns Field Ice Rink in Hinsdale may be up and running soon, weather permitting.

HINSDALE, IL — The Burns Field Ice Rink in Hinsdale may be up and running soon, weather permitting. The rink is scheduled to open the week of Dec. 16, but it needs approximately 4-6 consecutive days of weather below 32 degrees for the rink to be safe to skate on.
According to the village newsletter, you can check the Parks & Recreation website and social media for updates on when the rink is officially open and okay to skate on throughout the season. Barricades located at the rink will also indicate whether it is GREEN "Okay to Skate" or RED "No Skating Today".
The warming house will also be open unsupervised Monday-Friday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and supervised Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During supervised warming house hours, an Ice Guard will be on duty to provide free hot chocolate to patrons and maintain fires.
