Jewelry Stolen, Parking Meters Shaken: Hinsdale Cops
Contractors were in a house when jewelry was stolen, police say.
HINSDALE, IL — In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving stolen jewelry, shaken parking meters, a deceptive practice and DUIs. Here is the information from the latest police reports:
Jewelry in house stolen
- Jewelry was missing from a bedroom drawer between April 12 and April 15 at a house in the 200 block of South Bodin Street. The victim had contractors in the house when the jewelry went missing. The case is pending.
Shaken parking meters

- A person was seen shaking parking meters and trying to rip them out of the ground about 7:30 p.m. April 13 in the 10 block of South Garfield Avenue. The person was in possession of a white powdery substance. The person was released. Charges are pending the results of a lab report.
Deceptive practice
- A resident in the 10 block of South Bruner Street told police Wednesday he purchased exercise equipment online for $641. The victim got a tracking number for delivery, but never received the equipment. The crime was listed as a deceptive practice.

- Travon Lawshawn Logan, 22, of Maywood, was arrested at 3 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South County Line Road on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant and on a charge of speeding. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
DUIs
- Tella Johnson, 43, of Chicago, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane use, improper U-turn and possession of open alcohol by a driver. The suspect refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Luis Javier Santos Rosario, 51, of Franklin, Wisconsin, was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday at Shell gas station, 210 E. Ogden Ave., on a charge of DUI. Police were called because of an intoxicated person at the gas pumps. Rosario submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
