Kramer Foods Creates a Lasting Impact

Kramer Foods Donates to RGA Hanson Center

Burr Ridge, IL - Kramer Foods has been serving the Hinsdale community since 1953. This local grocery store is a small, attentive, and generous to the community it serves. Ray Graham Association’s Hanson Center knows the generosity of Kramer Foods, personally. Over a decade ago, a proud, local Kramer Foods shopper and Hanson Center volunteer, Gail Skowron, encouraged Kramer Foods to donate their leftover produce to the Hanson Center barn for the animals. Since then, Kramer Foods has continued this unique partnership and to this day, donates leftover produce.

Twice a week, Kramer Foods donates anywhere from two to six bags and boxes of produce to the Hanson Center barn. Skowron personally coordinates the donation of the produce from Kramer Foods to the barn. The animals at the Hanson Center barn, including goats, pigs, chickens, and of course, horses eagerly wait when they see the boxes and bags arrive.

This has also created an opportunity for the volunteers and students at the Hanson Center to further connect with the animals. Students enjoy feeding them bananas and lettuce and volunteers enjoy cutting up apples for the pigs and horses.
