Literature Comes to Life at Lombard's Trinity Lutheran School

In celebration of reading, Trinity Lutheran School in Lombard will bring literature to life for area families at a free Storytelling Open House on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Through the art of storytelling, Chris Fascione, will take participants "Around the World." Through creative and interactive telling of multi-cultural folktales by the "man of 100 voices," as Trinity teachers have labeled him, attendees will be treated to a fun-filled, participatory show. The Storytelling Open House gets underway at 6:30 p.m., but doors will open earlier, at 5:45 p.m., for a free dinner preceding the fun.

Trinity Lutheran School, on the northeast corner of Roosevelt and Meyers, welcomes children and adults alike to visit the 160-year old Christian school for this special opportunity to be entertained in a low-tech, high-impact way. Trinity's principal, Julie Messina, encourages all ages to come enjoy Fascione. "Chris is a gifted storyteller who holds your attention during his performance and makes you want to read a book when he is finished." Teacher Cindy Allor adds that the program is "fast paced and engaging…He has a unique ability to hold one's attention."
The event is free, as is the dinner, but reservations are requested for the meal at 630.627.5601. Trinity is located at 1165 South Westmore-Meyers Road (the northeast intersection at Roosevelt) in Lombard and provides faith-based Christian education for children from age three through 8th grade.
