Marshall Reavis III, 82, Former Village Trustee, School Board Member
A celebration of his life will take place Feb. 27 at The Union Church of Lake Bluff.

Marshall W. Reavis III, 82 years, of Lake Forest, formerly of Clarendon Hills; Proceeded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie (“Margie”) Varady Reavis.
Loving father of Carrie (Christian) Erzinger, Marshall (Amy) Reavis, and Amy (Todd) Noden. Adored “Papa” to Emily, Maggie, Beau, Jill, Mitch, Henry, Grace, Ellie, Hattie and George. Brother of Martha (Jack) Swanson.
Graduate of Indiana University where he also received his MBA. Member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Marshall also went on to earn a PhD in Finance/Insurance at the University of Georgia.

He served in the U.S. Navy, retired as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves, also serving as President of the Chicago Chapter of Navy League, and was active in the U.S. Naval War College.
Additionally, he served as a Village Trustee for the Village of Clarendon Hills, a Hinsdale Central School Board Member, a Trustee for the Union Church of Lake Bluff, and as an Elder at the Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills. He was a proud member of the Union League Club of Chicago, as well as a Kentucky Colonel.

His professional life was always changing. He worked many years as a Risk Manager before becoming a college professor and author. His publishing business, Insurance Education Specialists grew over the years, providing numerous study guides to undergraduate and graduate students all over the country. Currently, some of his books can be found on Amazon’s website, where they are purchased from all over the world.
Later in life, he became an expert witness in the field of insurance. Marshall will however, be best remembered for his devotion to his wife and family.
A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at The Union Church of Lake Bluff, 525 E. Prospect Ave., Lake Bluff.
