NEW Faculty at American Music Institute

American Music Institute, located in Clarendon Hills and Downers Grove will like to Welcome NEW Faculty Members (in-school and in-home lessons available for all instruments)...

- Grace Canfield (voice / piano) received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School. Ms. Canfield was featured at Lincoln Center Jazz in Wayne Shorter; the Early Years and has sung in Urbania, Italy, appearing as Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore under the direction of Benton Hess. She studied at the Chautauqua Voice School from 2012-2015 and made a cameo appearance in Castleton Opera’s Seven Deadly Sins under the baton of the late Lorin Maazel. In 2011 Ms. Canfield was awarded 1st place in Chicago NATS, and the following year she placed 2nd in the Hal Leonard and American Prize competitions.

- Liana Gineitis (Voice / Piano) holds degrees from Northwestern University and University of Massachusetts Amherst. Liana has several years of private and group teaching experience working with beginniners to graduate students. Ms. Gineitis is a passionate believer in the healing power of music, and sings daily with the Songs By Heart Foundation, a program that brings music therapy to Dementia and Alzheimer's patients in the Chicago area.

- Leah Stevens (flute / piano) earned her B.M. in Flute Performance from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and her M.M. at University of Nebraska. She is a National Flute Association competition winner, and has give world premieres of several works in Chicago within the past year. Ms. Stevens enjoys working with students of all ages, levels and backgrounds.

- Chris Rose (trumpet) earned his bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and studied additionally at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has served as Assistant Principal Trumpet in the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra and taught music in the North Star Borough School District. He has performed with orchestras in Italy, Sweden, South Korea, and around the United States.

- Alexandra Kassouf(voice / piano) earned her B.A. from University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and her M.M in Vocal Performance from University of Cincinnati. Ms. Kassouf's teaching experience ranges from rhythm for toddlers to private instruction for adult young singers. Her teaching philosophy puts healthy technique first. She provides a fun learning environment and safe space for expression to every student.
