No Capacity Concerns At Hinsdale Hospital: Official
Local hospital is seeing a rise in coronavirus cases, village president says.

HINSDALE, IL — While Hinsdale's hospital is seeing more coronavirus cases, it has no capacity constraints, the village president said this week.
"Residents don't have to be concerned with our local hospital being overrun," President Tom Cauley said at this week's Village Board meeting.
As of Monday, Amita Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale had 19 patients with COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus, Cauley said. Although the number has risen recently, it's well below the highest point earlier in the pandemic, he said.

On Friday, the Hinsdale hospital reported 16 coronavirus patients. The high point was 25 cases on April 21, an Amita spokeswoman said.
In recent weeks, Elmhurst Hospital has seen a big spike in coronavirus patients. As of Friday, the hospital had 66 such patients — 3½ times the number a month ago. The hospital hasn't been at this level since April.

As of Thursday, Hinsdale had seen 505 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, according to county health authorities. That number rose 6 percent since Sunday.
A total of 42 Hinsdale residents have died from the coronavirus, nearly all earlier in the pandemic. No one has died from the coronavirus since June on the Cook County side of Hinsdale.
