Public Invited to Tour New D86 Transition Center

The tour will take place Aug. 15.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale Township High School District 86 is pleased to announce the opening of the new Transition Center at 7302 Clarendon Hills Road in Willowbrook.

The district will host a ribbon cutting and public tour of the new facility at 6:30 p.m. Aug 15, just before the Board of Education’s regular action meeting. The Transition Center serves District 86 special education students between the ages of 18 to 22

“We are so excited to open this new building for our special education students,” said Tammy Prentiss, Assistant Superintendent for Student Services. “The building has been completely renovated to be both welcoming and functional. It is wonderful to have the space we need to deliver services and to meet the increasing enrollment of this program.”

The district will continue to house the Bridge Program at the Willowbrook Bank building at 42 63rd Street in Willowbrook. The Bridge Program supports special education students ages 18 to 22 who attend College of DuPage career development programs.
