Restaurant Harassment, Gun In Car: Hinsdale Cops
An employee told police that a co-worker made contact of a harassing nature, police said.
HINSDALE, IL — In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving restaurant harassment, a car theft at a repair shop, a gun in a car, a DUI, trespassing, burglary and forgery. Here's the latest Hinsdale police reports:
Restaurant harassment
- An employee at Nabuki restaurant, 18 E. First St., told police Friday that a co-worker made contact of an unwanted and harassing nature between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 6. The case is pending.

- Nathan L. Harris, 25, of Chicago, was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday at Ogden Avenue and Route 83 on a charge of a gun in a car with no valid firearm owner's, or FOID, card in his possession. The other charges were unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and driving without a license plate light. According to a police report, an officer found a loaded handgun under the front passenger seat while searching the suspect's car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Car theft at repair shop
- Justin T. Cutler, 30, of Wheaton, was arrested Friday on charges of receiving, possessing or selling a motor vehicle and theft. According to a police report, a 2005 Infiniti FX35 was stolen at 2 a.m. June 27 while unlocked with the keys inside parked next to Fuller Service Center. The car was found later the same day by the Wheaton Police Department. A warrant was issued for the suspect Feb. 18. Cutler was released and given a date to appear in court.
DUI

- Maria D. Galindo, 48, of Summit, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Sunday at York Road and Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police were called to a single-car crash. Galindo was observed to be under the influence of alcohol, but refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
Trespassing
- A known suspect entered a resident's detached garage without permission between 5 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Sunday in the 5600 block of South Elm Street.
Threatening messages
- A resident in the 200 block of South Thurlow Street received threatening text messages from a known suspect Sunday.
Porch piracy
- Packages valued at $36 were stolen from a front porch between 3:45 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday in the 10 block of North County Line Road.
Burglary
- Willie P. Shears, 52, of Chicago, was arrested at 6 p.m. Saturday on a charge of burglary. According to a police report, Shears tried to buy a car through identity theft at Land Rover Hinsdale, 336 E. Ogden Ave. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Forgery
- Donald Rowell, 54, of Country Club Hills, was arrested Thursday on two felony counts of forgery. His crimes were alleged to have taken place in January and February at Hinsdale Advanced Eye Care, 133 E. Ogden Ave.
