Rotary Club of Hinsdale Installs Officers and Directors

Hinsdale, IL — The Rotary Club of Hinsdale held its annual awards dinner at Maggiano’s in Oak Brook on June 22.

Don Brummet is the incoming president with Jon Lowry as the president-elect. Tom Cunningham is the vice president/program chair, Steve Stricker, secretary, Cheri Vana, treasurer, Jerry Cierniak sergeant-at-arms, John Lowry, social chair and Greg Siedlecki, newsletter “The Wheel” editor.

Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self has been channeled through the Avenues of Service, which form the foundation of club activity. Avenues of service are Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and New Generations. Chuck Snyder was named “Rotarian of the Year”. Directors include: Debra Anthony, Dick Goers, Greg Siedlecki, Caryl Andersen and Carolyn Snyder.

“For nearly six decades the Rotary Club of Hinsdale has donated to both international and local humanitarian causes. These donations will assist others in an immediate time of need said immediate Past President Bob Parsons. “Rotary members are continually supportive of Rotary International District 6450 projects and Rotary International’s goal to eradicate polio in the world.”

Charitable recipients were: The Community House, Hinsdale Community Service, District 181 Foundation, Hinsdale Hospital Foundation, Rotary Youth Exchange, Automotive Mentoring Group, Ray Graham Association/Hanson Center, Guatemala Water Well Project, Brazilian Cancer Treatment Equipment, LEAP program, Disaster Relief, Need-based Scholarships, Shelter Box, Hinsdale Humane Society, DuPage PADS, and Veterans’ White Sox Tickets.

Rotary International is the oldest and largest service club in the world established in Chicago in 1905.

The Rotary Club of Hinsdale meets weekly at 12:15 p.m. at the Community House, 415 W. Eighth Street, in Hinsdale. The club, founded in 1959, consists of local area men and women of diverse backgrounds whose personal commitment to service ranges from support of local youth programs to assistance for the poor and sick across the globe.
