Running Car Stolen, Porch Piracy: Hinsdale Cops

A 2021 model car was running in front of a business when it was taken, police say.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A person left a 2021 Nissan Sentra running and unlocked about 9:30 p.m. May 11 at Top Driver Driving School, 1 Grant Square. The victim was dropping off paperwork. When the victim returned five minutes later, the car was gone. Police found the car parked at Briargate Terrace and Madison Street about an hour later. It had front tire damage.
  • A woman is seen on video stealing a package valued about $100 at noon Sunday from a front porch in the 900 block of South Vine Street. The woman was described as white, in her 20s, and wearing a jean jacket and light blue tights.
  • A window was damaged between Feb. 15 and May 8 at the Hinsdale History Museum, 15 S. Clay St. The window had a circular-shaped hole consistent with a BB.
  • Michael J. Lynch, 62, of Darien, was arrested about 10 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of East 55th Street on charges of DUI and improper lane use. Lynch refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
