Sheriff's Office Investigating Car Burglaries, House Fire
Both unrelated incidents took place in unincorporated Glen Ellyn. More information is on its way.
The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating more than 30 car burglaries that have taken place around Route 53 and Butterfield Rd. in unincorporated Glen Ellyn recently.
At about 3 a.m. Monday morning, a stolen car was found in that same area.
After investigation, police found five suspects who initially ran from deputies but were eventually taken into custody. All of those suspects are accounted for, and the case is developing.

Also Monday morning around 4 a.m., police responded to a call about a house fire in the area of Tamarack Dr. and Juniper Ln. in Glen Ellyn. The Lisle Woodridge Fire District responded to the home and extinguished the fire.
Police don’t know the cause of the house fire yet; it’s under investigation by the DuPage County Arson Task Force.
