The fire broke out after midnight Aug. 5.

A lamp used to keep snakes warm in a tank started a house fire Aug. 5 on the second floor of a home in the 200 block of Grant Avenue in Clarendon Hills.

No one was inside the house when the fire broke out after midnight, according to the Chicago Tribune, but ceiling drywall fell on and trapped firefighters for minutes, leaving one injured.

Fire crews had the flames controlled after 40 minutes. No snakes survived the blaze.
